For most dog owners, dog daycare centers are places to take their pet when they have to go to work, or when they will be away from home for a few days. Dog daycare centers can play a bigger role in your pet’s life especially when you are dealing with some situations in the home. If you are going through any of the following you should consider sending your dog to its home away from home until things settle down.
When you are moving
We all move a few times in our lifetimes, but most of us never stop to think what effect it has on our pets. Dogs are particularly sensitive and the upheaval of changing homes can leave them affected. As you plan your move one of the items on your to-do list should be to take your dog to the dog daycare facility until your new home is set up. Take them there the day before you start moving and then bring them to the new home once you have unpacked everything and settled down.
When you bring a new baby home
When you bring a new baby home your dog is no longer the center of attention – in fact she may be ignored for a few days. Instead of leaving her to herself it is a good idea to take her to the dog day care center where she will be given love and attention and properly cared for. Once you bring the baby home and have had a few days to settle down you can bring your pet home to meet the new family member.
During remodels and repairs
Remodels and repairs mean that lots of people will be in your home all day long and this can be upsetting to your dog. She will also be exposed to items that are potentially dangerous such as paint, nails, sharp tools and so on. You can take your home to the dog day care center until all the remodeling is done.
On Halloween night there will be lots of children ringing your door bell and this can be particularly upsetting to your pet. By the end of the night she will probably be agitated and may even show signs of hostility. It is a good idea to take your dog to the local dog daycare center on days like Halloween or when you have a party and are expecting lots of guests.
If you have an emergency
Most dog owners will ask their neighbor, friend or relative to take care of their dog when they have an emergency. While these people may have the best intentions, your dog is not used to them, and they may not know how to properly care for it. You can call your dog daycare center and ask them to send someone to your home to fetch your pet and watch her for as long as you will be away.
